TRAINING

100-hour INFRARED IMAGING BOARD PREPARATION course

download this page in pdf format

SEE CALENDAR

This 100-hour course prepares a student to apply for the certification examination offered by the American Chiropractic Board of Infrared Imaging (ACBII).

The course is open to anyone (see eligibility) who wants to receive excellent and comprehensive training in infrared imaging, whether or not the registrant intends to attain Board Certification.

Sponsor:

National University of Health Sciences (formerly National College of Chiropractic).
(Their PG division is called the Lincoln College of Postprofessional, Graduate and Continuing Education.)

Course Organization and Instructors:

Five, 20-hour sessions.  This means that students have to travel only five times, instead of nine.  Dr. Susan Vlasuk and Dr. Robert Ensley will teach the course.  The first three 20-hour sessions will be held in Bellevue, Washington, and the remaining two 20-hour sessions will be held in the California Bay area.

Course Content:

See below

Note that the course emphasizes the neuromuscular uses of infrared imaging.
Breast imaging is not the focus of this course, nor is there any intent to make it so.

Dates:

Jan 13-15, 2006, Bellevue WA, Dr. Vlasuk

Feb 10-12, 2006, Bellevue WA, Dr. Vlasuk                                       SEE CALENDAR

Mar 10-12, 2006, Bellevue WA, Dr. Vlasuk

May 12-14, 2006, California Bay area, specific site to be announced, Dr. Ensley

Times:

The schedule will be the same for all dates and will run as follows, in order to allow early departure on Sunday to catch flights:

Friday 8-12 and 1:30-6:30 (9 hrs)     Saturday 8-12 and 1:30-6:30 (9 hrs)      Sunday 8-10 (2 hrs)

Eligibility:

A doctor in any health care specialty may take the course; however, only doctors of chiropractic may apply to take the certification examination offered by the American Chiropractic Board of Infrared Imaging.  This is because the American Chiropractic College of Infrared Imaging and its Board are subdivisions of the American Chiropractic Association, and all certification boards approved by the ACA are limited by strict bylaws to only DCs.

This excellent course not only prepares a doctor to take the certification examination, but also prepares the doctor to use infrared imaging properly in his/her practice.  Furthermore, it provides an appropriate level of expertise to participate knowledgeably in future ACCII symposia.  Note that doctors who wish to certify must complete all 100 hours of the course.

Doctorates qualifying for attendance include DC, DO, MD, ND, DDS, PhD, or DVM.

Technicians who work directly under the supervision of a doctor who attends the same class may also attend at the same fee as required for a doctor.  Technicians in any field may not attend separately from the doctor for whom they work.

Although technicians will certainly benefit from the material presented, there is no certification for technicians available through the ACCII, nor will there be in the future.  As noted above, this is because the ACCII is a subdivision of the American Chiropractic Association, and all certification boards approved by the ACA  are limited by strict bylaws to only DCs.

Cost:

For the entire 100-hour course:  $2500, payable in advance by November 18, 2005.

Make checks payable to National University, but send to Dr. Vlasuk

AT LEAST NINE STUDENTS MUST BE SIGNED UP AND PAID IN ADVANCE BY NOVEMBER 18, 2005, FOR THIS COURSE TO BE OFFERED in 2006  OTHERWISE, WE WILL SCHEDULE THE COURSE TO BEGIN IN JANUARY 2007.
